Beyond two souls: What did I feel?

I said that beyond did one thing better than heavy rain. What is that you may ask. Well quite frankly it the feelings that made me feel. Not just the simple ones like panic and sadness. Yeah these are simple for a game to invoke. Throw some strict time based event or a strange boss an get panic. Kill off a character and get sadness. Heck even Dear Esther, the least game-like game could make you sad. NO! I am talking about anger, relief and happyness. ACTUAL anger, relief and happyness. Not "OMG THIS GAME IS SO HARD" rage, not "Thank god i beat the boss" relief and not "Yay i finished the game " accomplisment. Not gamer feelings, human ones. I was able to feel what Jodie and Aiden felt. I have never been so close to an avatar before. Yes I was sad for Phoenix when Maya was kidnapped. Yes I was happy for Ethan when he got his son back. Yes I had mad for the Apprentice when I found out he was nothing but a pawn for Vader. But in Beyond there was no "for". I actually wanted to murder those bullies that touched MY Jodie. I was actually relieved when Aiden learned how to fight the Entities. I was really about to cry when Jodie was almost raped( and my lil sis shed a tear or two). I was actually  happy when I helped deliver that baby. Sure they failed to make Beyond as good as Heavy Rain, but they yet again showed their genius(I'm in love get of my case). That did unfortunatelly made the army scenes pointless though. Oh well.

Beyond:not Heavy Rain 2

That is my main problem with the game really. Its a pretty good game. Not a amazing game but a pretty good one., Amazing voice acting( not suprised there cause Ellen Page and Willem Dafoe are playing the main characters, even if the latter felt kinda uncomortable),amazing graphics and a great story. My critisisms,my objective critisisms are quite specific. Music is bellow average(not a big surprise either from Quantic Dream but oh well),the plot seemed to lack some rules making Aiden do whatever needed to be done and on occasions the game was too dark. Not the deep story people die dark. I mean night dark which, compine with the new actio slow mo QTEs where you must see the direction Jodie is moving and make that,  make the game unplayable in hard because I CAN'T SEE MY FUCKING CHARACTER!!!Other than those things Beyond was a great game. However it was not Heavy Rain. "Well duh its in the name" I hear you think( yeah i can do that now). You know what I mean. It lacked one very specific ingredient. It still has 2/3 QD's main tropes. Everyone is a bad guy but the main characters and you are forced to do tedious stuff yourself like opening doors or drinking from your glass( btw I love that). But it lacked the most important one. You know it. CHOICES!!!!!!!1!!!1!!¡¡! Sure,  Beyond had *some* choices, but they were either unimporant or you basicly chose the ending you like. Really. It literally asked me with whom do I want Jodie to live with for the rest of her life. And that is all the major choices I can say without spoiling the whole game. And you know you WILL reach the ending because the game starts at the  end. That did not happen in Heavy Rain. Anyone could die at any moment. Something as simple as denying a drink can save your life. We are talking impact here. And that is the reason I am sad towards Beyond. HOWEVER.There is something that Beyond does better. And that is a whole diferent article.
